Passengers escape through windows as bus almost falls into river

Passengers on a bus in the northern Thai Binh Province broke the windows to escape after the vehicle nearly fell into a river on Wednesday.

The bus was running on National Highway 10 in Vu Thu District at around 6:30 a.m. when it hit a tanker truck and a car, before running towards the Kien Giang River. The barricades on the side of the river however managed to keep it from falling down.

At the time of the accident, it was rainy and foggy. There were around 15 passengers on the bus. Several people broke the windows themselves to get out, while the others were rescued by employees from a nearby rescue center.

At the scene, part of the bus’s front wheels was submerged in the river. The windshield and mirrors were shattered. The tanker truck and the car involved in the incident were also damaged.

Another vehicle was deployed to take the passengers to their destinations.
