The Vietnamese leader’s visit from Aug. 18 – 20 is made at the invitation of General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and President of China Xi Jinping and his spouse.
China remains Vietnam’s largest trading partner and its second largest export market. Vietnam is China’s largest trading partner within ASEAN and the fifth largest globally, following the U.S., Japan, South Korea, and Russia.
In 2023, trade between the two countries reached US$171.9 billion.
