Over 300 Porsche Panamera cars recalled for air conditioner fault

The Porsche distributor in Vietnam has recalled more than 300 Panamera cars to fix an air-conditioning problem that can cause short circuits, affecting the operation and safety of vehicles.

The recalled cars, manufactured between July 21, 2015, and November 10, 2021, will have a defective auxiliary water pump replaced.

It is part of Porsche’s global recall campaign.

Due to the design of the Panamera’s air-conditioning system, moisture can enter the control box of the auxiliary water pump, leading to malfunction during Auto-Rest mode, which uses residual heat from the engine to warm the cabin.

This can result in damage to the auxiliary water pump, electrical jack and the device’s wires over prolonged use of the vehicle.

In Vietnam, Panamera cars can be checked and repaired at all Porsche dealers nationwide between April 1, 2023, and the end of 2024.

The process takes around 1.5 hours.

Panamera is the first and only large sedan from Porsche, the German sports car manufacturer.

The Panamera line sold in Vietnam is imported from Germany, comes in seven versions and cost VND5.31-13.03 billion ($226,500-555,700).
