Northern Vietnam to remain humid for the next two weeks

The northern region of Vietnam will continue to have drizzling rain and fog, creating high humidity starting this weekend.

Under the impact of a cold air mass from the east and the strong current in the upper westerly wind zone, the weather in the north will switch from dry to humid.

In the next two weeks, the humidity in the air will stay at more than 80%, according to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting.

The center said during the period, the average temperature in northern localities will rise 4-5 degrees Celsius to 18 degrees at night and 22-24 degrees during the day.

The arrival of humidity in the region at this time of year is a normal phenomenon after the Lunar New Year holiday.

This type of weather benefits the growth of crops but imposes disadvantages for daily life as it make it difficult to dry clothing, street surfaces will stay wet, and the fog could affect traffic visibility in the morning.

American site Accuweather said Hanoi is likely to have fog and dizzling rain throughout February. It predicted the average temperature in the city would be between 18-21 degrees in the next week and 19-23 degrees the week after that.
