My girlfriend calls me petty for wanting to split vacation costs

We are both 26 and have been dating for a year. I earn about VND12 million (US$477) per month, while she makes VND8-9 million.

After we became a couple, I assumed the responsibility for all dating expenses. Initially, we met three times a week, but since she started a job far away six months ago, our meetings have reduced to four or five times a month. I believe a man should bear the dating costs and support his partner financially after marriage, regardless of her employment status. Because of that, although my girlfriend occasionally offered to share expenses during our dates, I usually declined.

I also regularly give her gifts and transfer money during holidays, and whenever she was short on funds, I promptly transferred up to VND1 million to her. In contrast, she only once gifted me a pair of shoes for my birthday. On one occasion, when she suggested we hang out, I claimed to be out of money to see her reaction. She offered to pay, but I ended up paying myself, feeling guilty about the pretense.

Recently, we went on a trip where I ended up paying for everything, even though we had agreed to share the costs due to my financial struggles and pressure from my family. When I questioned her lack of financial preparation after the trip, she labeled me petty and blocked my contacts.

I am thus left wondering if I am too stingy within our relationship. What do you think about my story?
