HCM CITY — Nearly 84,800 people declared they had returned a positive COVID rapid test via a new online declaration system in HCMC over the past 20 days, according to a report released by the city’s Department of Health on Thursday.

Health stations in communes and wards received the information and then confirmed 61,406 of these declarations as positive cases of COVID-19 infection, a report showed.

More than 1,200 people in a high-risk group, including people aged 65 and over or with underlying medical conditions, and more than 12,700 people with severe symptoms got in touch and received medical support.

The department will advise the HCM City Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control to reduce the period for completing an online declaration to 48 hours of having a positive test result, from the current five days.

People with COVID-19 can complete a declaration form at https://khaibaof0.tphcm.gov.vn to report positive test results.

The department asked health centres and steering committees for COVID-19 prevention and control at commune and ward levels to speed up the application of digital signatures to issue certificates for people who have ended their self-isolation period at home in a timely manner.

More than 1.07 million people with COVID in the city are quarantined at home, according to the Ministry of Health. — VnExpress News
