HCM CITY — Masan Group has consolidated its place in the Top 50 Corporate Sustainability Awards by Nhịp Cầu Đầu Tư magazine, winning three categories of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) and honoured as the leading enterprise in listed companies sector.
The group has consistently been recognised as one of the Top 50 Sustainable Development Companies in Việt Nam.
This year it achieved all three award categories: E – Sustainable Resource Management, S – Human Resources Strategy for Sustainable Development, and G – Excellent Corporate Governance.
The accomplishment highlights Masan Group’s commitment to a comprehensive sustainable development strategy.

Initially established as a spice factory in HCM City, Masan Group has grown into Việt Nam’s leading consumer-retail enterprise with nearly 30 factories and over 3,600 WinMart/WinMart+/WiN retail outlets across the country.
In June 2024 Masan Group topped the Fortune Southeast Asia 500 rankings for the consumer goods and retail sector in Việt Nam with revenues of US$3.2 billion in 2023. It has also excelled in attracting foreign capital, securing a $650 million syndicated loan in 2023 and a $250 million equity investment from Bain Capital in April 2024. These transactions underscore the trust financial institutions have in Masan’s business execution and sustainable development strategies.
Masan Group has integrated ESG principles into its production and business activities, focusing on key areas like sustainable resource management, green growth and sustainable development.
In 2024 the company continues to align its operations with ESG and climate trends, with a vision towards 2030.

Masan Group’s commitment to the environment is evident in its investment in advanced, environmentally friendly factories. The group prioritises environmental protection measures in planning new projects and ensures that its factories and surrounding areas feature ample green space.
For instance, Masan Consumer’s factories have around 20 per cent of their sites planted with trees, while Masan MEATLife’s chilled meat processing complexes have green spaces covering 24 to 31 per cent of their total area.
To improve energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions, Masan employs several initiatives such as using rice husks and sawdust for energy production, which is sustainable and supports local job creation.
Masan Consumer has optimised production processes to minimise energy consumption and maximise the use of waste heat.
The company was awarded the ISO 50001:2018 Energy Management System Certification in 2023 in recognition of its commitment to energy conservation.

Water management is another key aspect of Masan’s operations.
In 2023 the company recorded total water consumption of 123,828 megalitres, an 11 per cent reduction from the previous year.
Masan Consumer aims to reduce water use by 5-10 per cent at all production units by 2025 through enhanced water recycling practices.
