ĐỒNG NAI – Many businesses in Đồng Nai Province are stepping up production of Tết products to meet increased demand during the 2024 New Year and Tết (Lunar New Year) holidays.
In order to reduce product costs, local businesses proactively developed input material source plans many months ago to minimise the impact of raw material prices. From there, they can bring products to market with competitive prices.
The price of raw materials and inputs tends to increase during the peak season, so many businesses and establishments producing Tết goods have rebalanced output and connected with partners early to build production plans. In particular, many businesses have focused on supplying Tết goods based on the number of orders.
Director of Vân Phát Trading Company Limited in Trảng Bom District, Bùi Thanh Vân, shared that the company specialises in producing dried fruits and agricultural products. The price of input materials, such as the price of cooking oil, packaging, and raw materials, has increased by 50-100 per cent, greatly affecting the company’s production plans for Tết.
“Due to many impacts, the company has to rebalance production output to suit the needs of partners and the market. The company’s expects production output for the upcoming Tết holiday to be at the same level as last year,” Vân added.
Similarly, a representative of Yến Nhung Food Production and Trading Company Limited in Biên Hòa City said that the company’s main markets are distribution channels and suppliers of processed products such as cashew nuts, macadamia nuts, peanut candies, black sesame candy, and white sesame candy.
Regarding the upcoming Tết product production plan, the company’s production output is expected to be equivalent to the same period last year in the context of rising raw material prices, which have impacted peak production at the end of the year.
To ensure the supply of goods during 2024 New Year and Tết holidays, the provincal Department of Industry and Trade has been actively coordinating with relevant departments, branches and localities to launch market stabilisation programmes, thereby building a plan to meet Tết demand.
Currently, all essential goods and items with high demand during Tết are being hurriedly prepared by manufacturing enterprises and delivered to distribution systems.
Distributors began negotiating with manufacturing businesses about the quantity of goods and prices from three to six months ago to fully prepare supplies and reserves according to the direction of the department to meet consumer needs during the Tết season.
Therefore, to stimulate consumer demand, the Đồng Nai Department of Industry and Trade has advised the municipal authority to offer promotion programmes.
Businesses proactively offer attractive discount programmes and connect with manufacturers to reduce costs and offer promotional programmes from production to distribution facilities, serving the needs of customers and stimulating people to “open their wallets” as well.
Đồng Nai is a province with many large industrial parks, so the number of people from other provinces and cities coming here to live and work is very large. Therefore, the province should actively deploy practical solutions such as goods promotion, and fairs and exhibitions to bring agricultural products and regional specialties to the people.
Many businesses and production facilities said that given that the Lunar New Year will be more than a month after New Year, many businesses and production facilities have considered appropriate plans to supply Tết goods. In particular, the issue of packaging and product designs specifically for the Tết holiday is of concern to businesses and production facilities.
Đào Nguyên, representative of Vị Vương Foods Company in Nhơn Trạch District, said that to prepare for the upcoming Lunar New Year, the company has launched many products with new flavors such as crispy jerky beef and chewy jerky beef. In particular, the facility also focuses on designing packaging and special products for Tết, and plans to launch many product designs with “combo” gifts for Tết combined with OCOP products.
In addition, many supermarkets in the province have begun to develop plans, proactively stabilise prices of essential goods, deploy promotion programs, and stimulate consumer demand at the end of the year.
According to the Department of Industry and Trade, it is forecast that purchasing power during Tềt will increase by about 5 per cent compared to last year’s Tết and 20-25 per cent compared to normal days. This year, the Lunar New Year is 40 days after New Year, so units producing goods for Tết have plenty of time to prepare, and product quantity and quality will be guaranteed. – VNS
