Police in northern Hung Yen Province have arrested a man for assaulting his lover’s 3-year-old son, resulting in the child suffering a temporal hematoma and bladder injury.
Tran Cong Minh, 25, is currently under investigation for “torturing others,” according to an announcement by police in My Hao Town on Monday.
The investigation revealed that on July 17, 23-year-old Huyen left her son in Minh’s care while she returned to her hometown to study a foreign language in preparation for a job abroad.
On August 17, after being unable to contact Huyen, Minh became angry and directed his frustration at the child.
He slapped the boy’s face and head and struck him with an electric wire. Minh was also accused of repeatedly beating the child, slapping his face and head, clawing at his genitals, and hitting him with a phone charging cable, which caused the boy to lose consciousness.
A medical examination revealed that the boy suffered a right temporal hematoma, a bladder injury, and multiple other injuries.
When neighbors became aware of Minh’s actions, they reported it to the authorities.
