A man died after being caught in a speedboat’s propeller during a parachute retrieval operation at Mui Nai Beach in the Mekong Delta’s Kien Giang Province.
Pham Khac Phara, chairman of the Phao Dai Ward People’s Committee, confirmed the fatal incident on Tuesday, Tuoi Tre reported. A police investigation is underway.
The incident occurred on Aug. 25 when a tourist was parasailing at sea. After the activity, employees used speedboats and motorboats to retrieve the parachute. During the process, a man fell into the water and was caught in the propeller of a nearby speedboat. He was severely injured and eventually succumbed to his injuries, Sai Gon Giai Phong reported.
The victim is believed to have been an employee of a boat company.
