Malaysia has no plans to expand visa-on-arrival program

Malaysian Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail has said there are no plans to expand the visa-on-arrival program.

The government also has no intentions of waiving visas for visitors from India and China since both countries require Malaysian citizens to get visas, The Star newspaper quoted him as saying.

Currently visas are only issued on arrival to Chinese and Indian nationals.

In February tourism minister Tiong King Sing had called on his government to issue visas on arrival to all nationalities to boost tourism competitiveness.

Malaysia hopes to receive 16.1 million foreign tourists this year, 60% more than last year.
