An Indian couple held an epic wedding at the Sheraton Grand Da Nang Resort, booking all of its 258 rooms to accommodate 500 guests.
The wedding of bride Kashmera Balani and groom Inderdeep Sedha took place from Jan. 19 to 21, according to the Da Nang Center for Tourism Promotion.
On Jan. 17 their relatives and friends started flying into Da Nang.
More than one ton of costumes, props and other materials were shipped in from India for the wedding.
David Ippersiel, general manager of Sheraton Grand Da Nang Resort and Convention Center, said Indian families have stringent requirements for facilities and professional event services when organizing weddings.
Six Indian weddings are scheduled to take place in Da Nang in the first two months of 2024.
An Indian couple also rented an entire five-star resort from Jan. 20 to 23 in the most expensive area on Phu Quoc Island for a wedding ceremony with 350 guests.
In January last year, a couple from Indian billionaire families threw a five-day wedding in Da Nang with more than 350 guests served by a team of 100 staff and chefs from India.
India was Vietnam’s fastest growing tourism source market last year, with the number of visitors increasing by 231% from 2019, the year before Covid broke out.
