Along with the villa, assets registered in Chow’s name reportedly include a Mercedes and various investments, according to Chinese news site Sinchew.

Chow passed away on Dec. 11 because of illness, as her management agency and family has recently announced.

Chinese news site St Headline reported that Chow had been diagnosed with systemic lupus erythematosus, which caused her walking difficulties. Her condition was not publicly revealed, so only a few people knew the reason why she could not move easily.

People suffering from systemic lupus erythematosus also suffer from inflammation and tissue damage in the affected organs as their immune system attacks its own tissues. It can affect the joints, skin, brain, and lungs.

A close friend of Chow, director Tin Kai-man, revealed that despite her illness, Chow always maintained a positive attitude and tried her best to enjoy her life.

It is reported that prior to her death, the actress had passed out because of her illness before being hospitalized by her personal assistant.

A health record of her conditions surfaced online after her passing, leaving the public to criticize the hospital in which Chow was hospitalized for leaking her personal details. Chow’s assistant has also been a target of criticism for allegedly not taking good care of the actress and letting her pass away without anyone knowing.

Born in 1966, Chow was well-known for her lead roles in drama series produced by TVB, a television broadcasting company based in Hong Kong.

She rose to stardom with her role as Zhou Zhiruo in the 1994 TV series “The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber,” which was adapted from a novel of the same name by Chinese wuxia novelist Jin Yong.
