20 plastic bags containing ketamine were washed onto the Sa Huynh beach of central Quang Ngai Province.
Locals of Vinh Tuy Village found the bags on Monday afternoon and informed authorities. Border guards of Sa Huynh then discovered white crystals inside the bags.
Tests on the spot revealed the white crystals to be ketamine. The drugs have since been seized by border guards.
People in certain coastal regions of Quang Tri, Quang Nam, Da Nang and Vung Tau, among others, have been detecting bags containing narcotics being swept onto the shores lately.
An investigation is ongoing, but the police have not announced exactly where the drugs came from.
