K-pop stars enjoy Vietnamese food and fireworks in Hoi An

K-pop fans were excited after seeing Big Bang member Taeyang upload a photo of himself at a pho restaurant in the coastal city of Da Nang, Vietnam, on Sunday. In the accompanying caption, the South Korean singer wrote in Vietnamese: “Cam on.”
He was in Vietnam to perform at a music festival in Hoi An Ancient Town on Saturday. After the festival, instead of returning to South Korea, he spent time wandering Vietnam and trying the local cuisine.

The singer’s fans immediately found the restaurant that Taeyang visited, on Tran Quoc Toan street in Hai Chau District. The restaurant serves many Vietnamese dishes in addition to pho, including fried rice, crab soup noodles, and seafood noodles.
Taeyang ordered a special portion of pho on the day he visited the restaurant. Not only Taeyang, many other K-pop idols are fans of the dish, including Blackpink members Jisoo and Rosé.

SNSD member Hyoyeon has visited Vietnam many times before. Her most recent visit was to Hanoi at the end of last year.
This time, the singer and her entourage had a chance to have a more interesting experience in Da Nang before performing at the music festival in Hoi An Ancient Town.
The singer visited the Ba Duong store and had a Vietnamese pancake right after landing in the country.

She posted about the dish many times on her social media account, showed that she knew how to eat the dish like a local, and did not hesitate to try the special shrimp paste.
Established over 30 years ago, the Ba Duong store, on Hoang Dieu street, has become one of the most popular eating spots in Da Nang.

Hyoyeon later went to a rooftop bar with her friends, which allowed them to watch the fireworks during the 2023 Da Nang International Firework Festival.

All four members of the group went out to eat pho, fried rice, and shrimp spring rolls at local eateries, as well as strolling around Hoi An streets.
