Hungary’s Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto on Thursday said the country is sending 156,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines to Vietnam without revealing the arrival date.
Szijjarto announced the new delivery on social media, as reported by Hungarian site 24.hu.
“Friends do not forget each other in trouble, so we are grateful for the help of the Vietnamese when they helped the Hungarian defense with masks, face shields and quick tests during the first wave of the pandemic.”
As part of the partnership, he said, Hungary first released and sold 400,000 AstraZeneca vaccines to the Vietnamese government, and then donated 100,000 doses of the vaccine to the country in October 2021, along with 100,000 Covid-19 test kits.
Around 76.6 million people in Vietnam have been fully vaccinated with two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine, while 44.9 million people have received their third shots.
