How to register for tour of HCMC seat of government

To visit the seat of government, that also houses the People’s Council, the legislature, people need to register online through a travel agency, the Department of Tourism website or a QR code.

Visitors will be informed about their schedule, date and time. They can only carry essential items such as phones and water bottles.

The QR codes to register to visit the People’s Council and People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, for individual visitors (L) and for groups.

There will be 48 tours, each lasting one hour, from 8 a.m. to noon and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Visitors will first gather at the Ho Chi Minh Monument and park opposite the complex to learn about its history and architecture.

They will then be taken inside to see the cultural, historical and architectural features with a tour of the ground floor lobby, main stairs, international reception rooms, meeting rooms, and balconies overlooking Nguyen Hue street.

The complex is a remarkable example of early 20th century architecture and art. Its exterior combines various European styles such as Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo, and Art Nouveau.

The interior walls and ceilings are adorned with flowers, palm leaves, laurel branches, and ribbons. The ceiling border has geometric patterns and floral and leaf sculptures in the style of the Louis XV era.

The building has maintained its original features for more than 110 years, undergoing only some minor renovations and changes.

It was constructed in 1909 and recognized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as a national-level architectural and artistic monument in 2020.
