Hanoi FC is the only Vietnamese name among the top 10 most valuable Southeast Asian clubs, according to German football site Transfermarkt.
The capital club is worth €5.35 million ($5.92 million) and peaked eighth on the list. Hanoi’s value increased after the arrival of two Serbian players this season – winger Djuro Zec (€700,000) and forward Vladimir Siladi (€600,000). They are also the top two most expensive players in V. League this season, followed by Nguyen Quang Hai (€400,000), whose contract with Hanoi will expire on April 12.
Hanoi’s value saw a significant hike from €3.65 million in 2020 and €4.35 million in 2021.
Topping the list is Thai League club Buriram United (€7.53 million), followed by Malaysian club Johor Darul Tazim (€7.25 million). There are four other Thai clubs on the list, making Thailand the country with the most representatives.
The second-most valuable Vietnamese club is Hanoi’s rival Viettel FC at €3.80 million and the third is Hoang Anh Gia Lai (€3.73 million). They didn’t make the top 10 overall.
