Hanoi eateries close amid looming Covid shadow

The surging number of new Covid cases has forced many eateries in Hanoi to shut down or empty out.

In recent days, the number of Covid-19 cases in Hanoi has continuously increased, affecting the catering business. Walking through some streets, it is not difficult to see closed restaurants with stickers on the outside with the content of shops for rent.

A pho restaurant on Ly Quoc Su Street has been closed for days. As of Tuesday, Hanoi has recorded 460,203 Covid cases in the current outbreak. The capital keeps logging the record number of daily cases, leading the nation’s Covid daily tally.
