The conference heard that in terms of healthcare, the city has focused on expanding and upgrading hospitals and medical facilities, both public and private, to provide better services.

A conference has been hearing of the challenges businesses in the cultural and social sectors in Việt Nam are facing.

Over a hundred businesses from the capital were at the conference, entitled ‘Dialogue to Resolve Challenges for Businesses in the Cultural and Social Sectors 2024 held at the Hà Nội City People’s Committee headquarters.

Chaired by Trần Sỹ Thanh, Member of the Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, and Chairman of the Hà Nội City People’s Committee, the event was a chance for the committee to gain deeper insights into the difficulties businesses face.

It aimed to propose effective solutions on support policies, administrative processes and financial needs, with the goal of facilitating investment in the cultural and social sectors.

Organised by the Hanoi Promotion Agency, the conference on August 16, was attended by leaders from the Hà Nội City People’s Committee, representatives from associations, departments and sectors, district and town officials and 120 businesses representing investors and organisations in the cultural and social sectors across the city.

These were categorised into six areas and 20 issue groups, including education-related concerns such as expanding educational levels, establishing private schools, registering for socialisation incentives and obtaining education-related licences.

In vocational training, issues included support policies, licensing of training institutions and workers and mechanisms for vocational training orders.

Other concerns covered support mechanisms, the investment environment and collaboration in healthcare.

Questions from delegates at the conference were answered in detail by the city’s relevant departments and agencies. Notably, the summary speech by the Chairman of the Hanoi City People’s Committee directed city departments to intensify efforts to address obstacles in investment and operations within the cultural and social sectors, aiming to drive the sustainable development of Hanoi’s cultural and social landscape.

Under the close guidance of the City Party Committee and the City People’s Council, Hà Nội has achieved significant results in investing and developing education, healthcare, culture and sports.

In education and training, Hanoi has made significant investments in building and upgrading schools, particularly in modern and high-quality facilities. Improvements in education quality include enhanced curriculum, the use of new technologies and better-trained teachers. Some of Hà Nội’s universities and academies have achieved high rankings both nationally and internationally.

In healthcare, the city has focused on expanding and upgrading hospitals and medical facilities, both public and private, to provide better services. Hà Nội has also introduced community health programs, boosted the skills of medical staff and integrated new technologies for improved diagnosis and treatment.

In the cultural sector, Hà Nội is actively working on preserving and restoring key cultural and historical sites such as the Temple of Literature, the Imperial Citadel of Thăng Long, the Cổ Loa citadel and the Hương Pagoda. The city also organises numerous large cultural and artistic events, fostering creativity and cultural exchange locally and internationally.

In sports, Hà Nội has invested in infrastructure, upgrading sports facilities like stadiums, sports centres and public swimming pools. The city has successfully hosted major sports events, offering residents more opportunities to participate in and enjoy various sports.

By supporting businesses and driving the development of Hanoi and the nation, holding dialogues to tackle challenges in the cultural and social sectors is a step in the right direction. This approach will help Hanoi develop a sustainable strategy for its cultural and social sectors moving forward.
