Police in southern Dong Nai Province are searching for a man who threatened staff at a Vietcombank branch with a gun and robbed money.
As seen in security camera footage, the man wearing black and having his face covered with a mask parked his motorbike by National Highway 51 at around 3 p.m. on Thursday and walked into the bank near Tam Phuoc Industrial Park in Bien Hoa Town of Dong Nai, around 45 km east of HCMC.
Inside, he pulled out a gun to threaten the staff and force them to give him money.
He put the money in a black plastic bag nonstop for almost one minute.
After a while, local people saw him running out of the bank along with the plastic bag. As people chased after him, he opened fire to scare them away before taking his motorbike and driving away.
Bien Hoa police said he had taken VND600 million ($25,393) in cash.
