Galaxy Play, one of the leading online movie platforms in Vietnam, achieved a breakthrough at the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Award 2023 (APB+) earlier this month.

The award is a prestigious symbol for individuals and organizations in the field of technology, digitization and television engineering in the Asia-Pacific region.

The APB+ organizing committee is one of the region’s leading media units, one which has significantly influenced the television and multimedia industry since 1983.

It has been the official publisher of Broadcast Asia in Singapore for the past 17 years, hosting major broadcasting and television trade events like NAB, IBC, BIRTV, BroadcastAsia, and CCBN.

The excellence award for Theater Grade Sound honors units that provide a dome-like sound experience equivalent to theaters, creating a feeling of being in a movie theater.

Winning this award not only underlines the remarkable progress made by Galaxy Play in sound technology to reach international standards but is also solid evidence of the application’s constant efforts to improve service quality.

It is also counted as the breakthrough in strategic cooperation between Galaxy Play and Dolby Laboratories.

In the last five years Galaxy Play has been one of the leading platforms in providing quality VOD services with Dolby Vision images and Dolby Atmos sound.

This technology duo’s integration appears not only in the movie library on the application but also in the exclusive in-house movies (Galaxy Play original series).

It creates a great home movie-watching experience like in theaters on any smart device with an Internet connection.

Galaxy Play is a member of Galaxy Entertainment & Education with over 20 years’ experience in producing and investing in a series of blockbuster films.

Vietnamese films make up its strongest content on the platform.

Several films produced by Galaxy Play have won prestigious awards and had impressive box office runs in recent years, including “Mat Biec,” “Em va Trinh”…

The company also holds exclusive rights to be the first to distribute Vietnamese blockbusters online.

Recently it broke Bo Gia’s box office record with Nha ba Nu.

Between 2020 and 2022 Galaxy Play’s user base grew significantly, and it now has over 10 million registered users including seven million cumulative paying users.

With subscriptions starting at VND99,000 per month, viewers have access to a huge movie library including Galaxy Play Originals, Vietnamese and Asian movies, TVB series, Korean, Chinese and other most talked about web series.
