BÌNH PHƯỚC – Four children in southern Bình Phước Province were found dead on Sunday after going swimming in the Đồng Nai River.

They were all 11th graders at Bù Đăng High School in Bù Đăng District.

According to initial information from the local authority on Sunday afternoon, a group of 10 children organised a camping trip to Bãi Cạn of Đồng Nai River in Đồng Nai Commune of Bù Đăng District.

When the others were camping, five children separated from the group to go upstream to Hà Đăng Commune for a swim.

While swimming, the five students were dragged into a whirlpool about 5m deep.

Hearing cries for help, several people on the shore immediately jumped in the water to aid the children.

Despite their efforts, only one child could be saved and the remaining four were swept away and lost in deep water.

Upon receiving the news, the authority of Đồng Nai Commune mobilised militia forces and police to coordinate with locals to search for the victims.

At 3pm on the same day, after more than two hours searching, the functional forces found the bodies of the four victims.

The incident is being investigated by the authorities. – VnExpress News
