Flights from South Korea to Vietnam’s tourist hotspots resume

Budget carrier Vietjet Air has announced to resume flights connecting popular tourist destinations with South Korea to meet travel demand during the peak summer season.

On Friday, the carrier flew 40 passengers from Cam Ranh International Airport near Nha Trang beach town to South Korea’s Incheon International Airport, marking the resumption of the service after over two years of Covid suspension.

The same day, 160 passengers flying from Incheon also landed at Cam Ranh.

Vietjet said there will be three weekly flights on the route on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

On Saturday, it also resumed the service between Phu Quoc Island and Seoul with five flights a week.

It plans to restart its Hai Phong-Seoul service from Thursday with three weekly flights.

South Korea will resume issuance of three-month visas and e-visas to Vietnamese tourists from June 1 after over two years of suspension due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Vietnam reopened international tourism with quarantine-free entry from March 15 and resumed 15-day visa exemption policy for tourists from South Korea, the second largest market of Vietnam’s tourism before the pandemic.
