A fire that broke out in a four-story house in Hanoi’s Ha Dong District Saturday morning killed a woman and her three grandchildren.
The fire started from a motorbike parked inside the house at around 7:45 a.m. and spread all over the “tube” house on Thanh Cong Street.
It took firefighters half an hour to put out the blaze.
The bodies of Nguyen Thi Hoa, 67, and her grandchildren, Nguyen Minh Phuc, 10, Nguyen Quang Minh Duc, 9 and Nguyen Quang Minh Hien, 4, were taken out of the house at around 9 a.m.

The father, Nguyen Quang Minh, 43, rushed home after hearing the news and tried to break in to save his family members but to no avail. Minh ended up getting his hands burned and is being treated at a local hospital.
Minh’s wife, a medical staff, was on duty at another hospital when the accident happened.
The police are investigating the cause of the fire.
On Friday a fire in a bar in the northern city of Hai Phong killed three women staff. Housed in a tube house, the bar had only one exit.
