FIFA President Gianni Infantino has affirmed to continue supporting Vietnamese men’s football in the pursuit of World Cup dream.
Infantino and AFC President Salman Al-Khalifa met with Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) acting president Tran Quoc Tuan during Tuan’s visit to Paris on Wednesday as they discussed Vietnam’s World Cup dream.
Infantino and Al-Khalifa showed their appreciation for the recent development of Vietnamese football. They recognized VFF as one of the leading national football federations in Southeast Asia, through cooperation with other big federations in Asia such as the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Japan, and South Korea as well as expanding cooperation with German Football Federation and in the near future, French Football Federation.
Thanks to this approach, Vietnam’s teams are given the opportunity to train and compete in developed football countries, to improve their quality and level, Infantino said. As a result, Vietnam have achieved impressive continental feats with their men’s, women’s football and futsal teams in recent years.
The FIFA president affirmed that he will continue to support and strengthen assistance for member federations in general and VFF in particular.
