Vietnam Expressway Corp, the operator of four major expressways, reported a 36% jump in toll collection to VND4.44 trillion (US$188.9 million) last year.
Its Noi Bai – Lao Cai, Cau Gie – Ninh Binh, Da Nang – Quang Ngai, and Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay expressways collected toll from 53.2 million vehicles, up 41.1% from 2021 when Covid-19 restrictions were in place.
The company has not released profit figures for 2022.
It is currently seeking the government’s green light to widen three of its expressways.
This year it plans complete a section of the 58-kilometer Ben Luc – Long Thanh expressway in HCMC.
The entire road is scheduled to be finished in 2025.
