Eight were killed and over 20 were injured after a bus and a truck collided in Laos’s Bolikhamxay Province on Monday.
Vientiane rescue authorities said among the injured were foreign nationals, including two from the U.K., two from South Africa and one from Sweden, the Laotian Times reported.
The bus and the truck in the incident collided 64 km from Vientiane. Nine ambulances and 42 responders, including firefighters and medical personnel, were dispatched to the scene, authorities said.
Sebastien Perret, co-founder of Vientiane Rescue, said the bus and the truck had to be cut open for hours to retrieve the victims. The injured were transported to hospitals in Vientiane.
An investigation is ongoing.
