Hotel booking data from Booking.com shows the Central Highlands town of Da Lat is the most booked destination during Tet holiday next week, followed by beach towns Nha Trang and Vung Tau.
The beach city Da Nang came in fourth, followed by Phu Quoc Island.
The rest of the top 10 were Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Sa Pa, Mui Ne and Hue.
The list is based on an analysis of check-in dates between January 19 and 31.
The Year of the Cat will begin on January 22, but many Vietnamese will start their seven-day Tet break on January 20.
Da Lat is cool all year round, and Tet is the time of blooming flowers, especially the cherry blossoms that will paint the town hills in “beautiful pink,” Booking.com said.
Major cities in Vietnam including Hanoi and HCMC will have fireworks displays on the Lunar New Year’s Eve after one year of absence due to Covid.
Among international destinations, Bangkok was the most booked by Vietnamese for the Tet holiday, followed by Seoul and Tokyo.
