Curtains close on Vietnam’s SEA Games


After 11 days, the curtains came down on the 31st SEA Games with an exuberant closing ceremony in Hanoi Monday night.

Among the four outstanding athletes honored are Vietnams runner Nguyen Thi Oanh (R) who won three gold medals and broke the 3,000m hurdles record, and swimmer Nguyen Huy Hoang who won five gold medals and broke two records in the 400m and 800m freestyle events. Thailands runner Robert Atkinson and Singapores swimmer Jing Wen Quah were also honored but other people came on stage on their behalf.
