Cong Tri showcases nostalgic new collection

Model H’Hen Nie walks the runway as the vedette in a pink dress designed by Tri. The Vietnamese designer introduced his 2022 Spring-Summer collection in Ho Chi Minh City last weekend.
In his latest collection, Cong Tri aims for elegance and simplicity, one of the most popular trends in fashion nowadays.
“For me, to have simplicity in design, the designer must carefully choose and refine his works. The pandemic has helped me connect with life, see things in a simple way. The fashion industry is changing, focusing on positivity and sustainability,” Tri said.

Cong Tri worked with director Viet Tu for his latest show, choosing a classic theme with a Haute Couture style. One by one, models walked out with number plates in their hands and voiceovers for their outfits, similar to high-class fashion shows in France in the 1950s.

Advanced craftsmanship and cutting techniques are fully exploited by Tri. On the background of sequins, taffeta, faille, satin, and organza fabrics, he creates a waistline and cutouts. Square and buffed shoulders create a strong style for wearers.

Model Minh Tu wears a yellow off-the-shoulder gown. The colors of Tri’s new collection echo the spring and summer spirit. In addition to white, black or beige, the designer uses fuchsia pink, yellow, moss green and metallic. He said he wanted to convey positivity and optimism about a fresh start to the year ahead.
Recently, American magazine Hollywood Reporter named Cong Tri as one of three fashion designers to earn popularity on Hollywood’s red carpets. He debuted at New York Fashion Week in January 2019, and quickly earned global popularity with many celebrities choosing to wear his creations in the last few years.
