Police investigating possible violations by an automotive registration center in HCMC’s Nha Be District have found that its director cannot read or write.
Following raids of several registration centers in the city, they had taken in the chief of 50-17D center, and it was then that they discovered he was illiterate.

In the past few weeks police and officers from the Ministry of Public Security have raided a number of vehicle inspection centers in HCMC and the provinces of Long An, Tien Giang, Soc Trang, Dong Thap, Ben Tre, Bac Giang, and Bac Ninh to look for violations related to certification, technical safety inspection and environmental protection.
In HCMC they have obtained 13 search warrants, launched investigations of six centers and questioned 43 officials for “bribery” and “forgery of documents.”
