Many customers of Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank (ACB) complained that they encountered a lot of problems in transactions on Friday and Saturday.
They could not withdraw money from the bank’s ATMs, make their payment or transfer money domestically and internationally via the lender’s online banking system during the 2-day period.
Talking with VnExpress newspaper on Saturday, Nguyen Thanh Toai – deputy general director of ACB – explained that the bank is upgrading its core banking system.
“During the upgrade from 7:00 pm on Friday to the end of Sunday, international and domestic debit card transactions, ACB online network and its online bill payment and money transfer services through the ACB’s CallCenter were suspended,” he said.
All problems will be solved by Sunday evening, and from 0:00 am on Monday, all the online banking transactions will be resumed, but will will be interrupted from 6:00pm on Monday to 0:00 am on Tuesday, Toai added.
Also during nighttime, 7:00 pm on Friday to late Sunday, all the operations of ACB branches and the bank’s transaction offices around the country and at the supermarkets and the airports nationwide will be suspended. All the transactions conducted in extra banking hours will resume on Tuesday.
Toai said before ACB upgraded its online banking system, the bank had announced the information on the website, on the mass media and via messaging to its customers so that the customers can be active in dealing with their banking transactions.
The bank chose the weekend for the upgrade to minimize the impact on customers’ transactions, he said.
After the upgrade, all transactions will go back to normal, he added.
