The ceremony took place in Linh’s hometown, the Mekong Delta province of Hau Giang, on Dec. 31, 2023. The wedding drew significant attention after Linh’s makeup artist shared a TikTok video of Linh receiving diamond jewelry.

Linh said the set she received from her in-laws included a necklace, bracelet, three rings, and earrings, all were made of diamonds. Her family also gifted her a necklace, bracelet, and a pair of rings. She expressed her deep appreciation for the love and support from both families.

Linh, a doctor, and Cral, a lawyer, were introduced by a mutual friend in Dec. 2022 and quickly fell in love.

“I was impressed by his good looks, as well as his gentle and charming demeanor,” Linh said.

Cral then returned to the U.S. and the couple started a long-distance relationship. Despite challenges such as cultural differences, language barriers, and long-distance, the couple maintained their relationship through regular texting and video calls.

Six months into their relationship, Cral talked to Linh’s parents, asking for their blessing as he was planning to propose to Linh.

30 members of Cral’s family then traveled from the U.S. to Vietnam for the wedding. Since Cral and his family were not familiar with Vietnamese wedding customs, they learned about the ceremonies online and received help from relatives in Vietnam.

The couple plans for Linh to move to the U.S. and live with Cral after their wedding.
