A pod of seven blue whales has been spotted off De Gi beach in the south-central province of Binh Thuan.
Do Thanh Toan, a tour guide, first saw them early this month, and said he has spotted them several times since late July.

When he saw them most recently on Saturday morning, they were rising from the water, mouths open, and seagulls were flying above, he said.
The largest creature to ever live on Earth feeds on tiny, shrimp-like krill by straining enormous volumes of water through their sieve-like baleen.
Nguyen Cong Binh, a local fisheries official, said the presence of blue whales is rare in the area, and officials are examining the reason.
