Blackpink will not disband: Lisa

Blackpink’s Lisa has reassured fans that the group is not disbanding despite the members’ individual pursuits.

The singer dispelled breakup rumors in an interview with Elle (U.S. edition) for its September issue, where she talked about her career, personal life, and the future of the group.

“Of course we’re continuing [Blackpink], for sure,” she stated. “We’re so proud of Blackpink, and I love Blackpink. It is not just because of our fans, it’s for ourselves. There was no doubt. This is our life.”

Looking back on her time with Blackpink, Lisa fondly remembered the 2023 Born Pink world tour, where she grew closer to her bandmates by exploring new places, trying local foods, and shopping together. She also emphasized the special connection within Blackpink, describing how the members draw energy from each other during performances.

“When I’m onstage [with Blackpink], I share my energy with my members,” Lisa explained. “If she gives 100, I’ll give 120. We can feel each other. And I love that energy.”

Despite her powerful onstage presence, Lisa confessed: “To be honest, I’m not the type who’s really good at expressing my feelings.” However, she added, “Lately, I feel more confident of what I think, and say it out loud.”

In her personal life, Lisa prefers staying at home, watching Netflix, and spending time with her pets.

Lisa, 27, was born Pranpriya Manoban in Thailand. She became a member of Blackpink in 2016 and embarked on her solo music career in 2021 with her album “Lalisa.” Her song “Money” catapulted her into fame as the first K-pop artist to surpass 1 billion streams on Spotify. She has also gained significant recognition as a fashion icon, amassing over 104 million followers on Instagram.

Alongside her career, Lisa’s personal life draws significant attention from millions of fans. She is rumored to be in a relationship with businessman Frédéric Arnault, son of billionaire Bernard Arnault. In early August, she was seen vacationing in Italy with Frédéric Arnault’s family.

Frédéric, 29, serves as the CEO of LVMH’s watch division, overseeing renowned brands such as Hublot, TAG Heuer, and Zenith.

Forbes reports that as of August 15, Bernard Arnault and his family are ranked the fourth richest in the world, with an estimated fortune of US$179.5 billion. The family’s wealth largely stems from their control of LVMH, which includes prestigious brands like Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, Fendi, Loewe, Celine, and Bulgari.
