Spectrum of the Seas, billed as “Asia’s largest luxury cruise ship,” carrying 4,400 foreigners onboard arrived in the popular resort city Nha Trang on Thursday.
This was the first cruise ship to Nha Trang this year, Khanh Hoa’s news portal reported.
After arriving onshore, the tourists visited the Institute of Oceanography, Ponagar Tower, Truong Son Craft Village, and experienced dining and shopping services at Vinpearl entertainment complex.
They then continued the journey to Phu Mu Port in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau.
The province is set to welcome more than 40 foreign cruise ships this year, carrying tens of thousands of tourists to the locality, according to the provincial Department of Tourism.
Since the beginning of 2023, Khanh Hoa has welcomed 25 cruise ships with nearly 46,000 visitors.
Operated by Royal Caribbean International, the 347-meter-long Spectrum of the Seas has 16 decks, more than 2,000 cabins and a capacity of 5,600 passengers.
Vietnam received 12.6 million foreign arrivals last year, around 70% of pre-pandemic figure.
This year, the country is targeting 18 million foreign arrivals.
