Local media indicate that Hong Kong actress Cecilia Cheung is troubled by her 17-year-old son Lucas’ rumored relationship with a ski instructor who is 46 years old.

According to WJ, Cheung finds the age difference unacceptable, despite not opposing her son’s dating in general. A source told WJ: “While Cecilia doesn’t oppose her son dating, she cannot accept such a significant age gap between them.”

Speculation about the relationship between Lucas and the ski instructor began earlier this year, after the two were reportedly seen shopping together for daily essentials. There were even rumors that they were living together.

The relationship has drawn social media attention, with some users suggesting it mirrors the family’s history, referencing the relationship between Lucas’ father, 44-year-old Hong Kong actor Nicholas Tse, and singer Faye Wong, 55.

This is not the first time Lucas has been linked to dating rumors. Last August, he was seen in Australia displaying affectionate behavior with an older, unidentified woman.

Lucas is the eldest of the two sons of Cheung and Tse, who married in 2006 and divorced in 2011.

Cheung welcomed her third son in 2018 but has kept the father’s identity private. Media mogul Sun Donghai, who was rumored to be the father, denied these claims in September last year and threatened legal action against those spreading the rumors.
