ABB appoints new vice president for electrification smart power, buildings division

In this new role, Hien will be functionally responsible for the overall electrification business in Vietnam including business development, sales, operations, and service. With a strong team and trusted local partners, Hien will drive adoption of technologies, supporting Vietnam in achieving progress of its net-zero commitment at COP26.

Hien joined ABB in 2004, held various senior management roles and used to lead many business initiatives across utilities, infrastructure, transportation and industries. Hien brings tremendous experience, having worked closely with various key manufacturers and utilities in Vietnam. In addition, Hien also offers intensive knowledge of key market trends and innovative technology solutions focusing on carbon neutrality and future-proof operations through digital transformation.

Supporting Vietnam’s emission commitment

To reach the net-zero carbon emission target by 2050, Vietnam will need to reduce carbon emissions, reduce pollution, and implement higher energy optimization in practical terms. The government has defined key areas to focus on such as transition to renewable energy; reduction of greenhouse gas emissions; use of electric vehicles (EVs); adoption of digital economy to address climate change, etc. ABB has solutions in place to support Vietnam’s emission targets from micro to macro levels, from changes in a single home to a whole industry.
