Taiwanese entertainer Jacky Wu recently enjoyed durian during his trips to Nha Trang in central Vietnam and Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur.
The 61-year-old TV host last week posted a video on his Instagram account, showing him eating durian outside a massage parlor in the beach city of Nha Trang.
“Enjoying good time in Nha Trang. A superstar is sitting at the entrance of a massage parlor eating durian and treating everyone to massages,” the caption reads.
Three weeks ago, he also posted a series of photos on Instagram, showing him eating Musang King durian at a roadside stall in Kuala Lumpur.
He said he stayed in Malaysia for two days before flying to Singapore for a live broadcast.
Wu is known to be a durian aficionado and has been taking advantage of the durian season to eat his way around Southeast Asia.
Malaysia is known for Musang King, one of the most popular varieties of durian known for its buttery, thick, bright yellow flesh and robust flavor, with a hint of bitterness.
Durian is primarily grown in tropical countries such as Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia, distinctive for its large size, strong odor and thorn-covered rind.
Wu hosts numerous variety shows, such as the long running popular Taiwanese variety show “Guess”.
He is said to be one of the richest entertainers in Taiwan, The Star reported, adding that he earned 12.9 million ringgit (US$2.9 million) in 2020 from hosting alone.
