HÀ NỘI — The Việt Nam Tennis Federation will present US$5000 to the national Davis Cup and bonuses to the junior teams for their recent international achievements.
The Davis Cup team successfully kept their place in the Asia/Oceania Group III zone which was organised in Amman, Jordan from June 10-15.
The team gathering young players placed No 4 among 10 participating countries. According to VTF it was a good result and players’ effort should be praised.
Later the boys’ and girls’ squads took part in the U12 Southeast Asia Regional Qualifiers in June in Singapore. With their surprising bronze, the boys earned their berth to compete in the finals to be held in Kazakhstan in September.
Gifts and other awards will be given to athletes and coaches during a ceremony on August 5 in Vũng Tàu City.
After the awarding, VTF will hold a friendly competition between teams at the tennis court of the Vũng Tàu Sports Joint Stock Company. VNS
