Vietnamese company fined for illegally collecting money with South Korea job promises

Huynh Huong Group Co., Ltd. was established in early June by Nguyen Thi Thu Dong and licensed to operate in educational support, printing, demolition, and site clearance.

But it collected VND3.3 billion from 142 people in Can Tho and neighboring localities against promises of getting them jobs in South Korea.

But it did not send anyone to South Korea before being busted by local authorities.

The city government has got it to return the money it collected.

Also on Thursday the Department of Information and Communications and Police summoned Le Thanh Sang, an employee of the company, for questioning before fining him VND15 million for posting false information related to getting people jobs in South Korea.

He had created several accounts on social network TikTok and posted videos with information about jobs and accepted applications to send people to work in South Korea with promises of a daily income of VND1.8-2.1 million.

He also claimed Huynh Huong Group Co., Ltd. belonged to the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs.

Many people were taken in by the advertisements.

Authorities discovered that the company was not affiliated to the ministry nor licensed for labor export.
