Spain teenage football star Yamal buys three houses for father, mother, grandmother

Spanish media reported that teenage star Lamine Yamal bought three houses for his father, mother and grandmother in his hometown at the age of 16.

According to Sport, the Spanish football prodigy bought a house for his grandmother near where he used to live in Rocafonda, Mataro in Catalonia, about 35 km from Barcelona. Whenever Yamal has free time outside of football, he often spends time with his grandmother.

Spanish media said the teenage forward also bought his mother a house near where he grew up. The house Yamal bought for his father is in Barcelona where he is playing for the club of the city. The Sun commented that the young talent is humble and very attached to his family and his birthplace. The teenage boy often makes his hand sign into number 304, Rocafonda’s postal code, when he celebrates a goal.

Yamal’s father is from Morocco and his mother is from Equatorial Guinea, but the two broke up when he was young. Yamal has an older sister and a younger brother.

After the victory over France in the semifinals on July 10, his mother, sister and younger brother went down to the pitch to share joy with the teenage prodigy. Yamal’s father also posted a photo taken with him.

Yamal made debute for Barca at the age of 15, and quickly showed his talent. The right-wing forward scored seven goals in 51 matches for the club. Last September, Yamal extended his contract with Barca until 2026.

At Euro 2024, Yamal started in all seven games of Spain. He played confidently and set a series of records for the youngest player to play, score and assist at a Euro tournament.

After Spain beat England 2-1 in the final on Sunday, Yamal, who just celebrated his 17th birthday on Saturday, broke the record of Brazilian football legend Pele and became the youngest player to win a major international tournament.
