HÀ NỘI — Vietnam Report has released the list of the Top 10 prestigious companies in the high-tech agriculture industry in 2024.

These exceptional companies were selected based on rigorous and unbiased criteria.

The evaluation process encompassed three key aspects: the financial strength demonstrated in their latest financial statements, their media reputation gauged through the media coding method (which involves assessing articles about the companies on influential media channels) and surveys conducted among research subjects and relevant stakeholders, continually updated until July 2024.

The distinguished list of the top 10 companies in the high-tech agriculture industry for 2024 consists of: CP Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company, Lộc Trời Group Joint Stock Company, Việt Nam Seed Group Joint Stock Company, Việt Nam Dairy Cow Company Limited, Hoàng Anh Gia Lai Joint Stock Company, Dabaco Vietnam Group Joint Stock Company, BAF Vietnam Agriculture Joint Stock Company, Thái Bình SEED Group Joint Stock Company, Syngenta Vietnam Company Limited and Hà Nam Animal Feed Joint Stock Company.

According to the survey conducted by Vietnam Report, a majority of businesses and industry experts (nearly 90 per cent) who participated, expressed their belief in the positive impact of high-tech agriculture on crop productivity and efficient resource utilisation, including water and fertiliser.

Approximately 78 per cent of respondents stated that high-tech agriculture, aided them in better pest management and reduced labour costs. Moreover, 67 per cent of participants acknowledged a clear decrease in the environmental impacts of agriculture, while 56 per cent noted a significant improvement in crop quality.

The survey findings from Vietnam Report also highlight that 85.7 per cent of participating businesses and experts view the current level of high-tech agricultural practices in Việt Nam as being in the developmental stage.

These results clearly demonstrate that technology is presenting new opportunities for Việt Nam’s agricultural industry, contributing to increased productivity, enhanced product quality, and reduced environmental impact. However, in order for these solutions to truly succeed, it is crucial for the government and relevant organisations to provide support in terms of information dissemination, farmer training and financial assistance.

Meanwhile, in their discussions with Vietnam Report, businesses revealed that their primary sources of information regarding high-tech agriculture mainly includes government programs, agricultural fairs and exhibitions and industry suppliers. They said that other sources of information are severely limited.

Vietnam Report’s media analysis findings indicate that, in comparison to other industries, the amount of information available about high-tech enterprises remains relatively modest.

Enterprises within the industry are not actively engaged in communication activities, as information provided by enterprises accounts for only 19.8 per cent of the total encrypted news. Nonetheless, a positive aspect is that a significant portion (42.9 per cent) of the businesses studied have achieved the effective threshold for information diversity, with their information covering 10 out of 24 topic groups. Additionally, 64.3 per cent of businesses have reached the so-called ‘safe’ threshold in terms of information, with the positive-to-negative information ratio differing by 10 per cent from the total encoded information.

These findings highlight the interconnectedness and coherence of high-tech agricultural information, involving multiple stakeholders and reflecting diverse aspects of the economy and society. They also document the positive impacts of the technological revolution in Việt Nam agricultural industry.
