The world’s leading hotel giant IHG Hotels & Resorts said it would open a luxury hotel in the ancient town of Hoi An in the fourth quarter of this year as tourism picks up.
Located on the banks of Hoai River, Moire Hoi An under IHG’s Vignette Collection brand will feature 128 guest rooms, including pool villas and suites.
The hotel, a 30-minute drive from Da Nang International Airport, includes two restaurants, a bar, a swimming pool, fitness center, boutique spa and other modern amenities.
“Tourism is picking up at a rapid rate in Hoi An, with 4.3 million visitors expected this year, a 10% rise from 2023,” said Chris Anklin, senior director development at IHG Hotels & Resorts.
With increased tourism promotions, Hoi An has recently witnessed a rise in the number of tourists.
Hoi An, famous for its iconic yellow houses and rich traditional heritage, was recently voted one of Asia’s 25 most loved tourist attractions by Tripadvisor readers.
Quang Nam Province, home to Hoi An, received over three million foreign tourists in the first half of this year, up 23% year-on-year.
IHG plans to double the number of hotels in Vietnam from 18 to 44 within the next three years.
