The extravagant 10-day wedding of Prince Mateen of Brunei and his noble girlfriend Anisha Rosnah Isa-Kalebic promises to be a lavish display of Brunei’s rich cultural heritage and royal customs.
The event started with a proposal ceremony on Sunday, as reported by Malaysian news site Hype.
On the same day, Isa-Kalebic completed the pre-wedding Khatam Quran ceremony, a Muslim tradition involving the bride reading the entire Qur’an. It is reported that Isa-Kalebic wore a traditional all-white Brunei attire baju kurung during this ceremony.

Continuing with Brunei Royal Family traditions, an Islamic ceremony is planned for Jan. 11, with a reception and a parade in Bandar Seri Begawan on Jan. 14, according to People Magazine. It will officially conclude on Jan. 16.
Details of Isa-Kalebic and Prince Mateen’s relationship have been scarce, but they reportedly have dated for several years and appeared at various public events, including the wedding of Princess Azemah, Prince Mateen’s sister, last year.
It was only earlier this month that the prince publicly shared their first photo together.
