Angelina Jolie’s brother assumes protective role for sister and her kids

As reported by The Mirror, Haven, a former actor, appeared on an episode of the “90Who10” podcast, which aired on Dec. 31, 2023, to share his insights. He spoke about his commitment to being a constant source of stability for his nieces and nephews during Jolie’s public divorce from her ex-spouse Brad Pitt.

“It all started with the need to protect Angelina and the kids,” Haven shared with host Jessica Entner. “Witnessing their private struggles become public spectacles, I knew I had to step in.”

Noting the significant impact of these events on the “massively formative years” of Jolie’s children, Haven stated that his protective instincts prompted him to rearrange his own life to be available for his sister and her family, according to The Independent.

“They [Jolie’s children] are transitioning into young adults, and it’s a critical time,” he said. “I want to be there for them, to offer guidance, support, and just be present whenever they need me.”

Haven, 52, started his acting career in 1998 and retired in 2013. He is presently recognized for his activism.

Jolie, 48, has six children with her ex-husband film star Pitt, 60: Maddox, Pax Thien, Zahara, Shiloh, Vivienne, and Knox Jolie-Pitt. Maddox, Pax Thien, and Zahara were adopted from orphanages in Cambodia, Vietnam, and Ethiopia respectively. Meanwhile, Shiloh, Vivienne, and Knox are the couple’s biological children.

Jolie and Pitt have been embroiled in a custody battle following Jolie’s initial divorce filing in 2016. Jolie was granted physical custody of the kids, while Pitt was given joint custody in 2021. However, it is reported that the tug-of-war is still not completely settled.
