Nguyen Thanh Tung, 9Pay’s PCI DSS project manager, said the company is very honored to receive such a recognition: “We will continuously upgrade our information security to be worthy of being a safe payment intermediary in Vietnam and elevate it internationally.”
PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) is a globally recognized information security standard, a mandatory requirement for service providers like payment gateways and data centers, and is managed by five international payment organizations: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and JCB.
PCI DSS is managed by the PCI Security Standards Council (PCI SSC) on behalf of those payment organizations.
CMC is a qualified security assessor certified by PCI SSC and is fully capable of and authorized to perform PCI DSS certification assessments.
Therefore, 9Pay chose to cooperate with CMC Cyber Security, a leading and reputable international certification assessment organization in Vietnam, to obtain the PCI DSS security certification. This is a clear testament to the quality of the security system at the 9Pay payment gateway.

To meet PCI DSS standards, businesses must fulfill 12 main groups of requirements with 182 detailed requirements, including 6 groups of goals, namely building and maintaining a secure network system, protecting payment card data, building and maintaining network security, developing intrusion control systems, monitoring and regularly assessing the system, and developing an information protection policy.
After 6 months of testing and evaluation, the 9Pay payment gateway was certified by CMC Cyber Security as meeting the 12 standards of PCI DSS.
The certification awarded to 9Pay is the latest version of PCI DSS, with stricter rules on data access, including multi-factor authentication, accepting additional designated subjects and executive management responsibilities.
At the ceremony, Ha The Phuong, CEO of CMC Cyber Security, emphasized the importance of the PCI DSS certificate for Payment gateway 9Pay. Through this, both parties have built trust and opened up comprehensive cooperation opportunities for ensuring the safety and security of customer information.

The PCI DSS certification will help 9Pay make strides in deploying new business projects and expanding cooperation with major partners domestically and internationally.
Furthermore, conforming to PCI DSS standards also enhances the overall security level of the information technology system, giving 9Pay a competitive edge over other payment intermediaries and offering customers the safest experience when using its services.
