Vietnam defeated Cambodia 4-0 in the semifinals of SEA Games 32 women’s football and advanced to the final.
Vietnam didn’t have an easy start to the game on Friday night due to Cambodia’s offensive approach, which exploited space in the left flank.
They got the first chance in the fifth minute from a counter-attack, but couldn’t turn it into a goal. Cambodia continued to put more pressure for the next 15 minutes and caused difficulties for Vietnam
However, that pressure went away when Vietnam found the opening goal in the 20th minute with Ngan Thi Van Su’s header.
From there, the goals kept coming. 10 minutes later, Pham Hai Yen doubled the lead for Vietnam with an easy tap-in, then nine minutes before halftime, Tran Thi Thuy Trang made it 3-0 from the penalty spot.
In the second half, Vietnam played slow but still controlled the game well, while Cambodia were powerless to strike back.
Vietnam got one more goal in the last minute, with the second penalty that was successfully taken by Huynh Nhu.
Vietnam’s opponent in the final will be Mynamar, whom they beat 3-1 in the group stage.
