North to become warmer this week

Temperatures in northern Vietnam will rise this week as a mass of cold air weakens, going up to 25 degrees Celsius.

Starting Monday there will be rain in some places and it will be mostly cloudy, according to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting.

U.S. weather forecast service AccuWeather said from Monday to Wednesday temperatures in Hanoi would be 16-23 degrees, and gradually rise starting Thursday to reach 25 degrees by Saturday.

Places at higher altitudes, like Sa Pa town in Lao Cai Province, will see temperatures of 8-18 degrees.

Central Vietnam will remain wet until Wednesday due to eastern winds carrying moisture, but the rains will subside after that and temperature will rise.

The Central Highlands and southern Vietnam were cloudy and rainy through last weekend, and the rains will continue at certain places on Monday.

But starting Thursday the regions will see less rain, and the weather will turn sunny and dry.

Temperatures in northern Vietnam this month are forecast to be 0.5-1 degree higher than average while elsewhere they would be 0.5 degrees lower, according to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting.
